Horizon Europe is the European Union’s funding programme for research and innovation. Its strategic objective is to advance scientific and technological excellence across Europe by translating academic research into impactful innovation, industrial competitiveness, and economic growth. By fostering collaboration across disciplines and borders, the programme provides the financial framework to address pressing global challenges, accelerate the green and digital transitions, and support the UN Sustainable Development Goals. TNO participates in several Horizon Europe initiatives. Key examples include CORSO (CO2MVS Research on Supplementary Observations), which focuses on advancing global greenhouse gas and emission monitoring infrastructure, and CAMEO (CAMS EvOlution), a project dedicated to expanding and improving the capabilities of the Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service.
